Just Because It’s In a Book Doesn’t Mean It’s Good Advice

Dr. Susan M. Love, one of the country’s most respected women’s health specialists, offers a new rule: stop worrying about your health.

My takeaway from the NY Times review of this book was “living healthy is hard and some people might worry about it too much, so it’s ok not to do it.”  Sure, over-worrying can become an obsession but this seems just chock-full of bad advice! To be fair, I haven’t read the book and this criticism may be better-directed at the NY Times review, but I think some criticism is due somewhere!

A favorite quote: “The point of this is to use your common sense, and if you feel good then you’re fine.” Didn’t know I could feel high cholesterol or early-stage cancer…
